Latest NCRB Data: Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India in 2021
The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), in its Accidental Deaths & Suicides in India 2021 report, stated there were a total of 1,55,622 deaths due to road accidents in India in 2021. Uttar Pradesh reported the most number of deaths due to road accidents in 2021 with 21,792 fatalities, followed by Tamil Nadu (15,384), Maharashtra (13,911), and Madhya Pradesh (12,480).
The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), in its Accidental Deaths & Suicides in India 2021 report, stated that 1,64,033 suicides were reported in India in 2021. The majority of suicides were reported in Maharashtra (22,207) followed by 18,925 suicides in Tamil Nadu, 14,965 suicides in Madhya Pradesh, 13,500 suicides in West Bengal, and 13,056 suicides in Karnataka, the report said.
